Aneurysm in the age of Trump

So imagine this. You’re walking down the street. Maybe you’re on your way back from lunch, about to go back in to work the best job you’ve ever had. This is something you could really spend your life doing, sink your teeth into it. You are “living your best life”, as thousands of single moms on Facebook have written under their Herbalife or Younique link.

Maybe you’ve got a song in your head. “Making my way downtown, faces-”

Then you’re just dead. No transition, no fear, no last words. You don’t even get to say “ow”. One moment you’re all sunshine and roses, the next somebody’s identifying you in a morgue.

Now, when you’re looking down the barrel of something like that, how productive you think it is to sit on the Internet and argue about how Trump is the second coming of Hitler? The simple fact is, he is the president. If you are an American and part of this country, he is your president. Instead of screaming and crying about how racist he is, which he isn’t, and screaming and crying about that one time you think he mocked a disabled reporter, which he didn’t, maybe you could spare a thought for wanting him to simply come up with better policy. So far, I see a lot of people with problems, but nobody with a solution, except to go out on the street and yell “f*** Trump”.

Pro tip: that’s not actually a solution.

I see a lot of people say that things would be so much better if Hillary or Bernie had been elected. Would they? The political stage of the world would not have changed. On the surface, the world might care who the president of the United States is. When it comes right down to it, though, it doesn’t matter who the president is. Venezuela is still going down the crapper. It is doing that purely because of socialism, and Bernie Sanders would not have saved it. The situation in Guatemala that sent thousands of people north to the southern border of the United States would have happened under Hillary’s watch as well. Her press conferences in the past suggest that she probably would’ve done the exact same thing as Donald Trump dead. My question is, how many of you would be celebrating it under Hillary?

A common saying is “it is what it is”. I’ve always hated that saying because I think it can diminish the gravity of the situation. At least, I thought it did. In recent years, particularly through 2017, I am realizing that no matter what happens in any one given place, the world will continue to turn, uncaring. Just like anyone who was going to have an aneurysm and die under Trump was also going to under Hillary or Bernie.

It’s a grim prospect, I realize. To imagine that one’s fate is inevitable seems almost tantamount to nihilism. I do not believe that one’s fate is inevitable, but I do believe that some events are going to happen no matter how you prepare or fight against them. It is your reaction, however, that determines the outcome.

Now, when I said that Trump is your president whether you like it or not, I’m sure that there were at least a few of you who “lit-rally” screamed at your phone or computer that the popular vote went to Hillary and the electoral college screwed us.

Imagine this. Imagine one day we become like Sparta. We start to mock and castigate overweight people, to the point that some of them are dying directly from the hazing they are receiving, like they did in Sparta. Imagine a law being passed by popular vote that outlaws fat blue haired feminists.

It’s unconstitutional, and you don’t really get a say in it, because the popular vote won.

The electoral college exists specifically to stop that sort of mob rule from happening. It exists because at least half of the population is medically too dumb to make rational decisions. Go check it out for yourself; half the population is below a triple digit IQ. That’s kind of a big deal.

Because I love to play with hypotheticals, let’s go with another one.

Imagine if California, based on their population, got to control what happens in the rest of the United States. Within the past year alone, Jerry Brown has made it legal to give somebody AIDS without telling them. More and more cities in California are banning straws, to the point that a second offense can bring jail time. An illegal alien shoots a woman to death? No biggie. At least he didn’t give her a straw.

That is exactly why the electoral college exists. It exists because people like Jerry Brown would have far too much power without it. People who are realistically not smart enough to think more than a step ahead.

Now, if the title has the word aneurysm in it, and it started being about that subject, how did we get off on this tangent?

I suppose that I can bring it back home: when you’re finished with this, and you move on to something else, maybe you shut off your computer and go do some real life things. Maybe you just keep browsing the Internet. Maybe, however, just maybe, an aneurysm in your head bursts and you die with this still up on your screen.

Boy, that would be wacky, wouldn’t it? At least you weren’t browsing furry porn on DeviantART.

How To Be Part Of The 1%.

It’s 2017, and despite what you’ve heard, things have never been better in the United States. It is so good, in fact, that even the poorest among us are in the top 1% of the entire world. According to the Global Rich List, a website that brings awareness to worldwide income disparities, an income of $32,400 per year will allow you to be part of the world’s top 1%.

With all of this talk of socialism and communism by late teens – early 20s college students, you would think that capitalism is a dud. The talk around college campuses almost suggests that capitalism is dying because of how terribly people are suffering under it. Let’s go ahead and compare the United States, a country that has espoused capitalism since it’s incarnation, to a socialist country. Let’s go one step further, in fact, and use a country that is now socialist that was once capitalist.

Venezuela, once a burgeoning free market economy, enjoying modern successes, became a country where eating your dog is now considered a good option. They adopted socialism under the watchful eye of Hugo Chavez beginning in 2000, and continued with Nicolas Maduro in 2013. For a few years, things were fine. In fact, literacy rates improved and income disparities became less pronounced. As time went on, however, Venezuela’s economy deteriorated, largely due to the lack of a free market and a lack of competition. Despite receiving over $1 trillion in oil revenues since 1999, the government had run out of cash and soon relied heavily on printing money to finance itself. The result? The highest inflation rate in the world. Into thousand 13, the inflation rate was 56%, though numbers suggest that the implied annual inflation rate was actually 330%.

You might say to yourself, America prints money, why don’t we experience the inflation rate that they experienced in Venezuela?

The US Federal Reserve, the central bank of the United States, has the responsibility of maintaining the money supply at the level that the US Federal Reserve considers best for the economy. Maintaining that level requires the US Federal Reserve to create or destroy several billion dollars every single day to ensure the balance.

Socialist countries don’t do this. There is never enough money to go around due to all of the welfare programs that are required to ensure that everyone has what the government deems them to deserve. In order to have the money to pay for all of these programs, the socialist country will simply print more. That sounds all well and good, right?

Sorry grasshopper, it’s not. While there is more money, the bigger pile still only has the value that the smaller pile had, meaning that each individual dollar is now worth less than it once was. These are simplistic terms, but that’s the point.

Now, imagine you have worked all of your life and saved up $1 million. Suddenly, your socialist country decides to print enough money that your $1 million is suddenly only worth $1000. It could turn even the most honest man into a criminal. Imagine then, what the criminals must be doing about all of this.

Venezuela experienced a horrific rise in crime. The country became one of the most dangerous places in the world with almost 25,000 homicides in 2013. A murder rate of 79 killings per 100,000 inhabitants. Videos online showed thieves simply shooting people and taking their backpacks or purses, rather than demanding them.

When things became this bad, the government cast aside any pretense that they had of being a democratic country. Maduro, once content with ruling by word of law, became dictatorial, making sure that all TV stations either belonged to the government or said and did what the government wanted. International networks were blocked from cable and satellite. Opposition radio stations would see their licenses revoked and the newspapers shut down from lack of currency with which to operate.

Bernie Sanders

In the United States, The election in 2016 was a close call. Bernie Sanders, a known socialist, had gained more votes than Hillary Clinton in the primary. Luckily, the DNC did not allow that to deny Hillary the primary win. Sanders, known for stealing from neighbors and having a criminalwife, would have, with the support of millions of inexperienced and naïve college students, steered this great country toward the black hole that is socialism. Many celebrities encouraged voting for Bernie, citing the success Venezuela has had with socialism.

If socialism ever found its grip on the United States, you could rest assured that you would never again be part of the top 1% of the planet.

Despite what suffering you may feel you have, despite what roadblocks might appear in your life, be happy that they are all surmountable. There are still countries in which your birth place might determine your chances of success. Take heed of history and pay attention to the fact that this Country has remained number one for hundreds of years, while giving all of its citizens, even the poorest, better living conditions than anywhere else on the planet.

Deconstructing Men in 2017.

The Current State

It’s 2017, and men do not look like they used to. There is no strength, there is no honor, and there is a complete lack of style and substance. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe it has completely gone away, but it has become an endangered species, the Real Man. It wasn’t a quick and noticeable decline either, rather, it was slow and innocuous. Single motherhood, the fight against merit-based systems, and various forms of affirmative action have removed any reason for men to improve themselves. The meta now is to fit oneself into an under-represented group and use that to an advantage.

The Good Ole Days

People look back wistfully at the 1950s, wishing they could they could go back to a time when things seemed safer, when whole families were the norm, when people dressed up just to go out to the store, and when decency was in fashion. Never do I hear, “I sure wish we could go back to the time when black people were second class citizens”, or “I sure would like to be able to beat my wife without anyone saying anything about it”. These were not the values of the 1950s, as much as the left would have you believe they were. A man who sexually assaulted a woman was as much a scumbag then as he would be now. Then, however, he would be attacked. Now, the entire gender is attacked. Collectivist ideals have taken precedence over individual actions.

Identity Politics As A Norm

Never before has a person’s identity being so determined by what he is born as. LeBron James is a legendary basketball player. He is an ingenious tactician, with the energy of a hundred normal men. He is a father, and an example to all young boys as to what a man can be. To the left, however, he is merely a black man, a tool to further a collectivist cause. The left, who calls everyone else out as racist for any transgression, real or implied, is oddly interested in black men only being black men. It’s the same with white and hispanic men as well. Some groups even suggest that everyone is born gay and genderless, and that society forces people into their gender roles. These groups used to be outliers, ignored or outright quashed by force. The internet, and subsequent immersion in echo chambers has emboldened and enlarged these groups. Their implied relevance causes uninvolved people to ally with them, “cause-jacking” to gain the benefits of a group without being a member.

That’s not what this article is about, though. These points are made to provide insight into the leftist mindset for clarity. Leftists believe strongly in identity. They are strongly against merit-based reward systems. A simple google search reveals countless arguments against “meritocracy”, and those same authors, with very little effort, can be found talking trash about “cisgendered white men”, and how “black people are magic”, while they themselves are likely part of the group they are decrying.

The Point

Modern men, in an effort to appeal to groups they have no place in, diminish themselves. Effort that could be spent on improvement of self and community is instead used to pander and placate and become more like a given group. This goes beyond mere action. Their bodies change, becoming less masculine and more feminine. The lack of testosterone affects the way they think and speak. Every male that works for BuzzFeed recently took a testosterone test together. The conclusion was predictable.

Males raised by single mothers are statistically less likely to succeed in any merit-based capacity, multiple studies show. That is because a man feminized is not a man.

Justin Trudeau, Canadian Prime Minister and outspoken feminist, recently shamed his sons publicly in a personal piece he wrote for Marie Claire magazine, while also making it clear that he feels male society has it out for his daughter.

I am so exceptionally proud of my daughter Ella-Grace. I love Ella, and I worry–because as a father, son, husband, and citizen, I witness the unequal obstacles women and girls face every day. It’s 2017, yet in Canada and around the world, women and girls still face violence, discrimination, stereotypes that limit them, and unequal opportunities … It is maddening to me that my brilliant, compassionate daughter will grow up in a word where, despite everything she is as a person, there will still be people who won’t take her voice seriously, who will write her off–simply because of her gender.

All of us benefit when women and girls have the same opportunities as men and boys–and it’s on all of us to make that a reality. Our sons have the power and responsibility to change our culture of sexism, and I want Xavier and Hadrien–when he’s a little older–to understand that deeply. I want my sons to escape the pressure to be a particular kind of masculine that is so damaging to men and to the people around them. I want them to be comfortable being feminists.

This pseudo man, a leader of an entire country, is willing to sell his own family out to pander to identity politics. Women already have the same opportunities as men. Lazy people, however, don’t have the same opportunities as hard-working people, and that’s why those who follow identity politics hate meritocracy. Any group that is helped by affirmative action, whether it be based on race or gender, is relying on their identity, and not their work, to keep them gainfully employed.

Men need Work

HYLQuixote

No man does well when there is not a real adversary to fight. Whether that be a bear in the woods, or imminent starvation, or a project at work, a man needs to overcome adversity to remain stable. Modern men, with their Quixotal(see: windmills) adversaries never achieve true victory and rightly so, are not well. Every puff piece written by a male in HuffPo, New York Post, BuzzFeed and Vox, as well as many other publications, are rife with imagined monsters and insane rambling.

A lack of sunlight and exertion has rendered these house cats neutered.

These piteous males often find themselves in open relationships, the caveat being that it’s only open for the woman. They raise the children of other men, conceived during their own marriage, and count themselves as lucky to get to be in the presence of such a “strong independent woman”. To call a woman “yours” is considered a taboo and will have you labeled a misogynist.

The Solution?

Raise your children, both boys and girls, without an ideology. Ensure that they know how to think critically and can separate fact from fiction. Teach them useful skills. Seeing racism in milk or misogyny in clothing is not a skill. changing parts on a car or balancing a checkbook is a skill. This author’s daughter has been able to change brakes on a car since she was three. She is the least likely candidate for feminism or identity politics.

Children raised without a father are the most at risk. Be a father to your boys, men, and if you’re a woman, get a father for your boys. Independent women create weak men.

Lastly, let boys be boys. Trying to force them to avoid their own gender markers ensures that they will end up weak, duplicitous, and unfit to raise the next generation of children.

Yet More Dangers in Obfuscation

With the meanings of words changing, and some words being given more power while others are given less, it comes as no surprise that a popular magazine would release an article that appears to attempt to normalize incest.

This article go so far as to change the meaning of incest, however, softening it into genetic sexual attraction. This has been going on for decades, and has even been lampooned in a popular George Carlin rant. Adding softer language to something does not change what it is. Instead, it serves as a line of division with which someone can call themselves proper and another person improper.

Beyond that, it blurs the lines yet again of hate speech. When will come, the first instance in which someone calls it incest, and another person gets offended because they were merely engaging in genetic sexual attraction?

The term “slippery slope” gets thrown around a lot, but in this case it is clear that we are on one.

Don’t fall.

The Danger of Obfuscation.

It is evident in these recent years that there is a growing group of people determined to eradicate free speech. These people all fit into the same category, as they search for oppressed groups to be a part of. When discussing points with students on college campuses, it becomes evident that they try to turn the argument in their favor not with the merit of their argument, but instead with their identity. If they find they are losing ground they’ll tell you that they are trans, or autistic, or some other oppressed group that is neither easily proved nor easily disproved. Rather than form a cogent argument to defend their position, or, God forbid, be willing to change their opinion, they muddy the waters, and turn the argument from what it was into their very identity being attacked.

The Power of Words

The power of words is even being changed. Often you will find the same groups of people using words like literally, but with changed meanings. The word literally is the opposite of the word figuratively. This is definite and absolute. Despite this, however, people will inevitably dredge up instances in which someone has used the word literally to mean figuratively at various points in history. Just because it happened in the past doesn’t mean it’s correct or right. The use of literally as figuratively is another form of obfuscation.

The definition of other words has changed as well. In any dictionary before 2009, looking up the term fascism would tell you that it is a socialist construct. Socialism is a very left wing ideal. In newer dictionaries, fascism is defined as specifically right wing, with no mention of socialism. History and reality does not support this, but the meaning of the word has still been changed.

How It Remains Relevant

The continued changing and mutating of words ensures that no matter what a person says, a meaning can be drawn out of it to fit whatever narrative another person wants. This is a dangerous form of evolution, especially when it is considered that oppression becomes an ever widening net for people to fall into. Most arguments these days are not based on their actual basis, but instead on how it affects a particular oppressed group. This form of obfuscation ensures that no progress can be made between two opposing parties without somebody being hurt in some way or another.

The United States of America is the only country in the world that has laws regarding free speech. No law enforcement authority nor any government authority can’t stop you from saying something, nor can they levy fines or imprisonment upon you simply for something you have said. The same cannot be said for even so close a neighbor as Canada.

The current attempts by certain groups to classify certain speech as hate speech, as well as attempts by members of the Democratic Party to set forth laws regarding hate speech, are attempts at removing the first amendment rights that Americans hold so dear.

Things Don’t Happen in a Vacuum.

It is important to remember that things don’t simply happen in a vacuum. There is rhyme or reason to almost every action. When someone attempts to classify words as hate speech that are in fact not hateful, a wise person will attempt to see what might come of it.

Lacking Lack

Kierkegaard said that there will come a time when the only thing we lack is lack. It appears as though we’ve reached that time right now. People in the United States are so privileged and so inundated with things to have in things to make their lives more comfortable, that they are now inventing problems.

Beyond that, when those invented problems are solved, they simply create new problems. The LGBT community is a prime example of this. It used to be that they wanted gay rights. They got them, and then it became about transgender people. OK, go ahead and be transgender. We’ll even make one of you woman of the year. Then, they wanted to pass laws, which were passed in Canada, that force you to change your child into a transgender person if they even mention feeling like the opposite sex. It is also considered hate speech(another made up problem) to misgender someone, even if they have a made up gender such as xir or ze.

It’s classic psychological maneuvering. If I want you to go a mile from where you are and you don’t want to, I’ll do my best to convince you to move an inch. Once I’ve succeeded, I’ll convince you to move another inch. It continues that way until one day you find yourself a mile away from where you started. That’s what’s going on right now with all of these social justice movements.

It seems as though the days are long gone when a person would count their blessings. In the United States, and most other westernized countries, even the poorest citizen is in the top one percent of the world. Americans live in a place that most other people on this earth would gladly give up everything to come to, and many have. There is no other country on earth as sought after as a home than the USA.

Maybe it’s time to count our blessings instead of creating new things to lack.

Be Your Own Advocate

In today’s increasingly selfish and desolate society, it is important to know that there is one person who will always stand up for you:

You.

The Current Meta

Advocacy and allyship groups continue to become more fractured, not being satisfied with their problem being part of a whole host of problems being solved. Instead, their very specific and often undefinable problem must be first in line. The LGBT movement alone has become a warzone in which transgender people now call gay people oppressive. Straight black men are considered the white people of black people. There are even transgender groups that call other transgender people transphobic. It’s mind boggling just how ready people are to be at the throats of people they once allied with or held close.

Even unions, the time-honored vanguard against morally corrupt corporations and small-time bosses who would feed on their workers have become a veritable mafia; using thuggish intimidation tactics and harassment to ensure that equity, not equality, is enforced. Anyone who doesn’t want to be part of the club is going to have a very hard time at their job. The Union wants its dues.

Even party politics has become a mine field. With no side currently being decent, the people who are decent have no home.

Who Can You Turn To?

You’ve made it this far, haven’t you? Despite all of the things that have happened in your life, including the things you were sure you’d never make it out of alive, here you are. Maybe you ought to listen to yourself.

Even if family, friends, and other people wish you success in your endeavors, it is ultimately up to you to push yourself to the finish line. No one can do it for you. The good part of that is, once you’re determined, no one can stop you, either.
