Donald, I liked you from the start. You were rich, beyond what most people are, and yet you spent your time giving people a chance. You were the first to ever let a woman design and build a skyscraper in New York. You brought other races to the trading floor on Wall Street before it was cool. When you ran for president, I was overjoyed. I knew who my candidate was going to be I knew where my vote was going. You were brash, you were rude. You didn’t care what people thought. I liked that. It was a good quality to have. It still is. I liked that people got combative about you, especially the spoiled children that comprise a lot of the twentysomething leftists. Best of all, you weren’t Hillary.
I really wanted you to make America great again. They said you made fun of a disabled person on the news. I did my research, I fact checked. You did not, in fact, make fun of a disabled person on the news. You did the same thing that you have done for decades when you mimic someone, including yourself, who has forgotten something or had some sort of a brain fart. This only bolstered my support for you. How can these people be so stupid as to misinterpret that when the proof is right there in front of them? You attacked a gold star family. I tried, but I couldn’t find a reason for it. I actually wanted to excuse your behavior with the rationale that you’re President and I’m not and so you must know best. You were so defensible before, why not now?
Recently, you said that the president of Puerto Rico was a moron, or something to that effect. The statements and ad libs are starting to blur in my mind these days. You had my vote. You had my allegiance. You had someone who would argue on your behalf on every subject, and I knew I was right every time. I also happen to know that I am right this time, when I hang up my hat.
This time I can’t defend you any longer. This time, all I can do is say at least it’s not Hillary. It makes me sad that it’s the only argument left to defend you with. You were something. You were a self-made billionaire. People would always argue, “he just had a small loan of a million dollars”, to try to mock your business ability. I would always retort, asking them if they could make a million if I gave them a thousand.
Most people, given a million dollars or more, are broke in a year’s time. Truthfully, very few people are good with money. Being good with money, however, does not make a person good with everything else. I tried to ignore your “grab them by the pussy” comment, calling it exactly what it was: immature locker room talk. When you admitted to infiltrating the locker rooms of contestants for Miss Teen USA, however, I had no argument to defend you with. There was nothing left.
Donald, you really had something. You could have been a boon to this nation. Instead, you’re just making Carter and Nixon look better, and making your former supporters feel destitute and disenfranchised. I doubt that you will make it a full term. If you do, and you do the remainder perfectly, people will not recognize it. You have sullied the Trump name to badly. If you run in 2020, please know that my vote will go to Dwayne Johnson. Even if he’s not running.
As for the rest of you out there, just because I’m no longer a Trump supporter, doesn’t mean that I would ever in my life be a Hillary supporter. I will also still attend rallies in my city, because I am still desperate to steal an Antifa flag, and to punch actual Nazis.
I am, however, hanging up my MAGA hat here.
